Why a Personal Comments Section?
Well, I’ve got so many folks who keep looking for entries for one thing. Some of them just don’t fit into the ‘professional’ categories of Portrait, Wedding, Landscape, etc. So, I decided to create this section and then put things in here that are just general comments about what’s going on up here, images that just don’t fit into any professional category, etc.
I have actually thought about writing about general things (things that interest me), or just things that bug me, but I think the photography site is just not the place to put some of that. So, I may even do another site. One thing I read about is that fact that there are so many blogs out there, it is just hard to get noticed. When you write a lot, one thing you really want is for people to read what you have written! Otherwise, why bother, right? It could be that you are just getting some things off your mind, but still…comments from folks are nice.
In some ways, the Internet has a lot of venues that don’t allow you to write anything with any length. Look at Facebook, MySpace, Twitter – they are all just short comments and are not really designed for the lengthy discussion. In that case, you fall back to the blogs, but you end up with the competition angle. So, I’m still going to dwell on the additional site. I already have a domain name, and have the basics set up on it. However, I really want to cover some subject that gets intelligent feedback from folks, not EMOTIONAL feedback. Remember when we could talk about politics and disagree about things, but still be friends the next day?
Well, for those of you who spend time reading this blog, let me know what you think. Should I do Blog II? :-) I’ll leave you with a picture of the latest snow (over a foot) and the house. It was 1 degree this morning when I took this.
