Well, everyone is trying to convince me that this is NOT the usual winter. More snow, colder temperatures, etc. Heck, I have NO idea, because I don’t have a baseline. But what I DO know, is that in January, there were 27 days where at least SOME snow was recorded in our area out of 31. It is a LOT to keep up with, and the snow keeps piling up around the house. However, the weekends are great – we open up an outer room, have a great fire going, and just watch the snow coming down, while we are nice and toasty. Lots of fun until I start thinking about how much I’m going to have to shovel! Here are a couple of additional pictures – front and back of the house, and Deborah out front watching her sister spin the grandson around in the middle of the road on a plastic sled. You would NEVER know that it is only 12 degrees out. Have we adapted?
I’m not sure if it is an unusual winter either. I would have to rate this one as a snowy winter but not one for the record books.
One good thing is that it keeps the heat in the house. We still have Feb and March to go. Feb is usually the coldest month. In March we can get some of the worst storms of the year as far as snow fall. See what you have to look forward to.
We’ve had maybe a total of about 3″-4″ inches all year so far! Sorry for you :-( but, it is nice to look at. :-)
