The New Abode

Well, we found this great little place, right next to Deborah’s sister’s house.  It’s on 1.3 acres, has a two-car garage, and a workshop further back.  Of course, it has a LOT of snow from the last few days, but the price is right!  We’re moving into it now…

    You think that’s a lot of snow….HA

  2. Kim says:

Cute! I agree with Jason on the snow…..it’s still only OCTOBER!

The ramp is a nice touch, but you’d better stock up on rock salt!

There were a couple of bags in the garage, which already saved the day! It had started to melt, and then it froze that night and was like a skating rink! We were trying to move boxes and furniture up that ramp yesterday and it was SLICK! The back deck is actually worse, because there are two sets of stairs, but then a large deck in the back. Problem is, that the snow comes off that metal roof and piles up on the deck. So, you shovel it, salt it, and then the snow slides off the roof and you start all over again! And that was only 6-8″ of snow. What to do when we get four feet of it?

You snuggle up to the fire and drink hot chocolate!

Knowing how beautiful it is up there at the lake, I’m a bit envious and missing home like crazy. However, ask me if I miss it in Janaury or February, get ready to hunker down and get snowed in. ;) When the temps hit -35 degrees and you can’t see out your windows because the snow is so deep, I expect to hear a lot more from you in this blog. lol

BTW, congrats on your little place in the woods. :)
