It’s just a lot of fun to have a portrait session with someone, and then find an image in that session that really deserves to be painted and then put on canvas or watercolor paper. I thought this one was just a great profile of Nancy Lou, and so started to work on it. It came out of the Character Lines session that we had done with her. This was a two hour photo shoot and interview with her about her life and loves. That session captured one that show her ‘old goat’ laugh and personality; this one captures the more quiet personal side that most people don’t get to see.
Final version is a 24″x32″ stretched canvas that will be framed and displayed in her shop.
