Well, we closed the retail gallery on May 3, 2008. It’s a mixed blessing – something that you love and now miss, and yet, something that had you tied down so that you couldn’t do what you REALLY love! Getting out and taking the scenics, landscapes, and other kinds of photographic work that is truly enjoyable.
It wasn’t even a full day that it had been closed and I was on the road again up to Fort Worth. The assignment was to get a portrait of Pop Tart – a fantastic horse! This was going to be a birthday present for a husband, and the wife had seen my Eye of the Horse picture in the gallery (below). She wanted me to re-create that look, but to use her husband’s horse so that she could give it to him as a gift.

Well, it’s always hard to re-create a piece of art, or a photograph that had just the right lighting, look, etc. However, for about two hours we tried. I don’t think we got exactly the same shot, but we did come up with some really great ones, and the wife is happy! My favorite one is below.
