I can’t believe it has been one year now that I’ve been up here, and it is fall again already! Where did spring and summer go? They just blew by and I don’t think I got as many photos as I really wanted to. The LensFlare35 show just took off, and that is almost a full-time job! But, it has led to many interesting things.
Interviewing all of these fabulous photographers is like having a personal lesson on some aspect of photography each and every week. They become friends in that two to three hour time-frame, and then I try to stay in touch with them and keep them up to date on what is happening!
Having advertisers who support the show and want me to review products, is giving me yet another round of equipment to try and test. Everything from a Ray Flash, LensBaby, a Zacuto Z-finder DSLR Viewfinder and a piece of software for my iPod Touch from onOne Software. The equipment and software comes in, I get to test it and take very different images than I might have. I also learn, once again.
Then, there are the other opportunities that come up. A Best of the Best Art Show next June in Dolgeville? Guess who’s in charge of that! Then, workshops, classes, and who knows what at one of the best potential sites I’ve ever been in – The Dolgeville Mill. You can see more about this as it develops at the Adirondack Workshops site!
And while you’re on that site, read about the CRAZY Anne Dapremont – who quits her high-paying job to come up here and take a week class with me to become a photographer – in this market? But, the girl has talent, now she has some knowledge, and she is very driven. This should be a success story we can all follow, right? For you folks in Austin, check out her website and help her in her zest for success!
Finally, I know – I need to post some images! So, here are just a few of them because there are many I just haven’t worked on! Anne shot the one of Mary, and I did the retouching.
