Well, being the spouse of a photographer is probably not the greatest deal in the world. The thing is, I’m always telling Deborah we need to go here or there so that I can check the lighting, or try a pose, or I need yet another image of her to test some theory or new technique on. Of course, Deborah used to model, so she just goes into her ‘routine’. But, I still like when I catch her unaware, or at least more casual. To me, those are the best shots.
In the silhouette, I was testing the North-facing lighting of a place in town that would make for great indoor portraits. The other one, is just at a restaurant across the street where we were having lunch. It’s called Katis, and not only do they have great soup, but the atmosphere is fantastic! Memorabilia abounds, including Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Coca Cola, and local items.
