It’s been just a bit since I have posted, but never fear, I am hard at work on images! Testing out several different concepts on panoramic images, studying different ideas to increase traffic to the blog, etc., etc., etc.
Late yesterday afternoon, I decided to head out in the jeep and go down a few new roads that I’ve never explored before in the area. When I started, the weather was clear and cold with no wind. But, by the time I got to the first hilltop, the high-level clouds had started to move in and cover the sun, and the wind had picked up. I was working on a panoramic idea, so I set everything up and started to work on it. Well, I was recording the GPS location and compass direction of the image, when I noticed that the batteries had died in the device I was using. They were brand new (or so I thought), so that gives you an idea of how cold it was and how fast it can suck the life out of some batteries! And yes, I was sitting in the jeep not paying attention so that I could keep warm! (More on the panoramics later)
Anyway, that idea was a failure, because I didn’t have enough backup batteries with me to start again. So, I decided to continue to explore those roads. Before I knew it, I was inside ‘the park’ and in areas that I had never seen before. I did not know that the park wrapped around the Spruce Lake area to the north of us, so I was excited to be inside it within a mile. I drove around for a couple of hours exploring, and got the following image. However, I had NO idea that the park consists of almost six million acres of land! Amazing…
