The winters are cold and harsh in the Adirondacks and getting out into the snow to get some landscape images can be a chore all unto itself. But, when the sun DOES finally poke out from behind the gray winter clouds, you can get some amazing images.
The waist-deep snow, the view through the woods, and the lake off in the distance towards the sunset; invites you to keep going towards your destination. I worked on cropping this image, burned in some of the white snow, and sun area, and then added in the color.
This is not a traditional sepia tone, but something else. In fact I de-saturated the image 100% after adding in the tone. Hope you enjoy it.
Cool! I mean Cold!
